There’s a strategy to get that effortless blend & those bold pops of brightness

It’s all in the technique & more importantly, the order in which we tease and weave your hair.

Here’s the difference:

Gives you that soft, rooty, lived-in, ultra blended blonde. Teasing first pushes some hair toward the root, which adds extra buffer to the blend that is then created with the weave & blonding placement

Slightly more contrast and definition - weaving first creates a controlled section of lightness, and then teasing diffuses the transition.

It adds more contrast and brightness, depending on the size of the weave so you’ll see a little more pop, but still with a natural transition

Pretty sure the first time I did this beauty’s hair was back in 2018—I had only been licensed for 2 years at the time! Wild how fast time flies.

She took a little hiatus (we all do!), and I truly believe that no stylist should ever take it personally when guests explore other options. You have to do what’s best for you. So when I saw her name back on my schedule, I was SO excited to get to play with all that hair!🥳

This girl has a lot of hair—definitely in the top 2 of all my guests.

For our first session back, we went with my 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 session to add brightness through the mids and ends as well as around the face! This gave us a nice, even canvas to work with for our next round of blonde!

Next time, we’ll focus on her roots with a 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐮𝐩 to break up her natural color and bring that brightness all over. It’s going to be stunning and I seriously can’t wait!

Since I cater to a lot of women in this phase of life, I figured I’d post this so y’all know my stance on it!

Did you know? Keeping your hand tied extension wefts dry is key to making your extensions last😉

After swimming, sweating, or showering, always blow-dry the top of your wefts to prevent swelling and avoid moisture buildup (aka the perfect environment for mold—yikes!)

A few extra minutes of drying = longer-lasting, healthier extensions!

I still do recommend replacing old wefts as they shed and get older, AND doing a full replacement of all your extension hair 2x a year! This will keep everything fresh & cohesive as your natural hair grows, changes in density & if you change the color at all 😊

Here’s how to know if you’re a good candidate 😘

✔ You Can Commit To Easy Home Care - at home daily brushing, and proper washing/styling techniques are essential. Not much more than you should be doing already - so that’s easy & I’ll show you the ropes!

✔️Your Hair Is Shoulder-Length or Longer – Shorter hair will require more blending work IF you’re looking for length. If you’re looking for just thickness - length doesn’t matter😉

✔ You Can Commit to Being in The Salon – Move-ups every 6-8 weeks, some of my lucky gals go 10 weeks! With better at home care you can go longer. Move ups only take 1 hour per row so not a long appointment at all☺️

🤍Your Hair Is Medium to Thick – If your hair is too fine, other methods like The Coveted Tape may work better just because we don’t want the bead to slip. However, I have thin/fine hair & I’m good with wefts because I take proper care of them.

🩷Your Hair Is Shoulder-Length or Longer – Shorter hair may require more blending work & the use of The Coveted Tape for just thickness. If your hair is above the chin, you might need a longer grow-out phase first.

💘You Have a Healthy Scalp – psoriasis, eczema, alopecia, or excessive oiliness could interfere with extension wear.

💕You Can Commit to Maintenance – Move-ups every 6-8 weeks, daily brushing, and proper washing/styling techniques are essential.

💓You Don’t Mind Sleeping with Braids and Silk Pillowcases – this help prevent tangling/matting and can extend the life of your extensions.

I started out sweeping floors, then washing hair, and just a year later, I started working towards my cosmetology license. At 18, I graduated from Monroe Tech (currently Academies of Loudoun) and headed to University of South Carolina to obtain a degree in Retail Management by 22. My favorite thing about school was flying home on weekends to continue my business to local girls in Loudoun County. Seeking education never stopped and by 23, I became a specialist in extensions and color. I began working for Radiance Medi-Spa in Lansdowne, VA (where you'll see me now) and have built a brand that far outlasts the blonde color.
